representing the hamburg ballet and hosted by the national ballet of canada, kristian lever is awarded with the choreographic prize at the “erik Bruhn” competition in toronto, canada for his new creation “an intimate distance” performed by hamburg ballet dancers Sara ezzell and matias oberlin.
Kristian Lever is a Finnish - British award winning choreographer and dancer. Raised in Helsinki, Finland, this is where he started his journey. Later moving to Moscow and Dresden to continue his training, giving him a wide range of knowledge and experience from different styles of dance and movement.
Having danced repertoire from Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, Ohad Naharin, Marco Goecke, Natalia Horecna, John Neumeier and many others. It was in Hamburg under the direction of John Neumeier and Kevin Haigen, where he was offered his first professional engagement as a choreographer. Having now created several works for the National Youth Ballet of Germany, the Royal Danish Ballet, dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater, Hessisches Staatsballett, Royal ballet, ukrainian national ballet and many others.
Kristian is currently in the process of creating several commissioned works. Additionally, he is planning a new full length production with his own company Klever Dance, which will premiere in November 2019. For further information about upcoming work, click below.
